Photo plus nyc4/28/2023 ![]() I can introduce you to some of my absolute FAVE New York photography spots.Īll of the super cool places that I myself go when I want to Instagram it up and feel like a pseudo-Carrie Bradshaw, at least if she were a fashionably challenged, financially unstable, debt-riddled New Yorker such as myself. and due in no small part to the fact that there are literally an infinite number of amazing, New York photography locations that await you as you explore this magical metropolis.Īnd while I can’t create a guide to every single NYC photography spot known to man (because yes my dear reader, we would call that a BOOK): New York City is probably one of the GREATEST cities in the entire world.īut seriously, it’s definitely true. Because if you’re reading this local’s guide to some of the BEST NYC photography spots then chances are that you’re probably thinking the same thing. I could write a lot more about it but as stated at the beginning, if you don’t have high expectations, on a budget and only want a room as a base then it’s ideal otherwise Avoid.Okay, I know this is a bit bold but I’m just gonna come out and say it. Stairs up, as lift is slow and constantly in use, are dark and on the whole not pleasant. Staff are not friendly, when they handed their keys back they were rewarded with the words “Thanks,” nothing else. No curtains and a light shone through it. Couldn’t see out of the window, which also had the a/c attached to it. ![]() It also looked like it was someones apartment who rented it out, a Christmas tree was on top of the roof housing the bathroom and a padlock was on the main door. There was a double bed in the bedroom area next to the bathroom and they had 2 put-you-up beds in the living area creating, no room to move around safely. My daughters words “my room at Uni is better then here.” The apartment itself was clean, had everything they needed, fridge, oven, kettle etc TV and wifi. If it didn’t cost so much money we would have moved them to our hotel after we visited it. My 3 children surprised me by joining us on our New York visit and was booked in here. The only good thing is it’s location, a block away from Empire State Building. If your on a budget and do not care about a room then stay here otherwise avoid. NB- The hotel suggested in the email (photo) wasnt available on when we tried to book it either. (Not confirmed but told me this has happened with the apartment company before doing similar) Needless to say DO NOT BOOK HERE. From speaking to locals in NY in the industry it's quite likely the apartment was listed and sold else where for a much higher price hence they cancelled our booking to get the higher rate. clearly didn't want us to find accommodation ourselves without booking it via there platform in order to get commission and offered no immediate refund to our group to allow us book somewhere else. ![]() What was different for us is we booked 3 bedroom which is difficult to find in NY for reasonable price. On arrival into NY I find an email sent a couple hours previous which was during my flight informing me the apartment had cancelled our booking due to the fact they had "no hot water" or "clean sheets" What utter BS ! This left 3 of us stranded with no accommodation late at night.
